How it works...

The Lightning Strike's patent pending threaded axle design lets you customize the system to any size or type of pour.  Each section of screed has a male and female end, so any two sections of screed can be combined to optimize your length, and a wide variety of attachments can be added to further increase capability.

While systems are available by piece, most systems are sold in a package.  The main package consists of

  • 1 - motor (price varies by model)
  • 3 - tripod stands
  • 1 - accessory tote
  • 1 - 6" wall plug
  • 1 - 18" wall plug
  • 2 - riser wheels
  • 1 - 20' screed section
  • 1 - 12' screed section
  • 1 - 6' screed section
  • 1 - 3' screed section

  • Tri-pod Stands

The tripod stands that come with the Lightning Strike are made of heavy duty aluminum and have a crush weight of 3100 lbs.  Multiple adjustments  make it fast and simple to create a level area to put your system together on uneven terrain

  • Wall Plugs

a 6" or 18" wall plug can be threaded on the the male or handle end of the screed.  These give the extra half foot or foot and a half to your length, and allow you to get right up next to walls.

  • Riser Wheels

Riser Wheels can be attached to both ends of the Lightning Strike to elevate the system 1/8" above the pour for patching on existing concrete slabs and reducing wear.

  • Accessory Tote

    Totes contain:

    • 6 way lubricant to the keep the threads well oiled and working
    • 2 spanner wrenches for tightening screed sections together, and for taking them apart
    • extra black and white caps to cover spanner wrench holes
    • T-bar wrench for set screw use

Nov. 6 2006

Dear Dennis Lura,

We purchased your screed 4 months ago.  Since then, we have used it on all types of flatwork including basement floors, garage floors, driveways, sidewalks, pole shed slabs, and parking lots.  We have used it on over 100,000 sq ft of concrete.  It has made flatwork less arduous.  It strikes off nicely, cuts down on hand work in plumbing areas, and can be rolled into place rather than being lifted into place.

While the crew was a bit skeptical at first, we have all become believers.  One of our finishers said that if he ever leaves the company, he is taking the Lightning Strike with him!  The Lightning Strike is a piece of equipment we are very happy to own.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Nelson
